Tuesdays with Grandma Joanne
There's a special kind of magic that happens at Poppy's every Tuesday morning. It's not in the perfectly frothed lattes or the warm, flaky croissants, but in the cozy corner by the big window, where Grandma Joanne sits with a stack of well-loved children's books.
On Tuesdays starting in September 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Poppy's transforms into a place of wonder and delight for the youngest members of our community. Toddlers and preschoolers, with their parents or grandparents in tow, gather on colorful rugs to listen as Grandma Joanne brings stories to life. Her voice, warm and gentle, fills the cafe, weaving tales of mischievous animals, brave heroes, and enchanted lands.
Grandma Joanne is one of our star employee, Millie's, very own grandma. She spent many years in the Petaluma education system while being a teacher's substitute, recess aid or office manager at Old Adobe School. We're thrilled to have Grandma Joanne provide pure joy on the children's faces as we see them get lost in the stories.
